Okay…so year end over here is CRAZY!!!! I have been working till 1:30 every night, I am not acclimated yet to the time change again, and still some how running…scary…
I am running the Army 10 miler over here on the 5th and I hope this crazy schedule is not going to affect my time…but I think I am going to have fun with the 10 miler, my legs need a little break. There are a couple big dogs coming to run so it should be interesting.
Besides that all else is going pretty good, I was the best man at a wedding while on R & R and it was simply amazing. J and Suzy are two of my best friends and it was beautiful to see them become one in the sacrament of marriage. They got back from their honeymoon the other day and sent me an email. They should be calling soon.
I can’t wait to see the video of their wedding. I was on the dance floor the entire night! But I will have to view this video before any of the general public sees it due to the fact I got some sweet moves and your eyes might not be able to handle it…lol. Or it could be I just like to have fun when I dance so yeah…it should be interesting!!
On my way back I got to see what I consider one of my top 5 most beautiful things. When I was in Atlanta, waiting to come back, I saw a large group of people anxiously awaiting the arrival of their husbands, wife, son, daughter, dad, mom…soldiers returning from deployment. It still brings a tear to my eye when you see them finally get to hug/kiss/hold their loved one after being gone for so long. The re-uniting is simply a beautiful thing; it moves you, and fills the room with such a positive energy. I had my own little re-uniting with my mom, when I was walking down the hall towards the exit to the airport, she was there with my aunt and yes, the tears started to fall after I saw her crying, (were kind of an emotional family… ) and it was nice to be back.
It was also great to re-unite with the family and friends. The CC Team is young, but they have a lot of potential. I had a blast running with them while I was back and look forward to running with them again when I return. But for now, I have to look forward to late nights, dusty days, and treadmills, although the weather is getting better, so running during the day will be coming back to life…yes!
